Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark hairstyle and her pumped up appearance, offers simple techniques that anyone can master. Chef Burrell has worked in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its geography. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up within New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her after she graduated with the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing learning experience for me. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating Chef Burrell lived in Italy for a whole year studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin star restaurant) located in Tuscany. In Italy Burrell developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This will have a significant impact on the way that Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to enhance living conditions for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of children's diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the nation in her capacity as a mentor as well as a public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking. Anne was always grateful that she could share the passion of her life, cooking with others.
